Owner and Lead Planner
I was blessed to know what kind of work I wanted to do early on in life. My event planning experience takes me all the way back to high school where my teacher’s daughter was getting married and asked if I would help with the planning. I was hooked from day one. A hospitality degree, jobs in professional catering, venue management, high end corporate event planning in Palm Beach, and 8 years since opening fern & flair later I am still just as excited about planning events and celebrating as ever.
One of my greatest privileges in life has been getting to take part in making truly memorable moments and experiences for life’s greatest milestones.
A little bit about my personal life.. I am a mom to two girls, one in heaven, and one here in our arms at home. I have learned that the hard stuff shapes a person just as much as the good. My husband and I have been together since high school, (yup, I guess I knew who I wanted to marry early too). We live in a house from the 1800’s that we have slowly renovated and turned into a home. On a warm Maine day you can almost always find me by the beach, I love skiing in the Winter, and taking advantage of Maine’s beautiful seasons and outdoors. In my free time I am almost always planning and designing dinner parties, holiday celebrations, and such for loved ones.
Molly
Event Coordinator
Meet Molly! Before joining the f&f team she worked in the luxury hotel and event industry right here in Portland. Molly has a fun and outgoing personality. She always has a can-do attitude and is a light to everyone around her. Mature beyond her years, Molly is a huge part of the success of fern & flair. We are grateful for her never ending spunk, warm personality, and joy that she radiates to everyone around her.
When Molly is not working weddings you can find her at the beach with her family in the Summer, or perusing coffee shops downtown. One thing is for sure you probably won’t catch Molly without an iced coffee in her hand no matter the weather.
McKenna
Event Coordinator
By day she may be a labor and delivery nurse but she also makes one boss of an event coordinator! It’s pretty much impossible to not fall in love with McKenna’s cheery attitude and talent for making things happen. She is an excellent bride’s side kick and all together encourager. If you are looking up the definition of a “boss lady” you will probably see McKenna’s name,
Find her skiing the slopes in the Winter, and cooking up some amazing cookies in the kitchen. Her hidden talent is that she learned Portuguese as a second language, but won’t share this with you until you see her whip it out at an unassuming time.
Parker
Handyman and Husband
Parker is my right hand man when it comes to helping with some heavy lifting or when I need a specialty piece built for an event. A welder by day and an innovator by night he always has his hands in a new project. Parker is constantly critiquing and coming up with new ideas.
He has an eye for aesthetics and is a major hospitality fanatic who keeps me on my toes and isn’t afraid to give his true opinion. Fun fact: he was once voted most likely to survive the longest on a deserted island. He is the strongest guy I know, and an excellent partner to do life with overall. I have the utmost respect for this handsome man as he loves on me and all of fern & flair’s sweet couples so well.
